I use Atera primarily for remote IT management and monitoring. The scope of our use case extends to automated patch management, real-time alerts, detailed reporting and endpoint monitoring. Atera allows me to bundle almost all of the remote management software I routinely need into a single interface, makes it possible for me to simplify billing (I use only one service) and management (same reason)
  • remote bash/powershell without user intervention
  • remote endpoint monitoring
  • patch and event alert
  • SNMP
  • Mobile APP
  • graphics for cpu/ram/network use
Atera is suitable for anyone who needs quick access to lots of devices without too much fuss between servicing. if you need to propagate scripts for hundreds of clients, install applications and know exactly all the useful information about the pc you need to work on it is perfect

In our company me & my team use Atera to remotely monitor & manage our IT infrastructures ,ensuring smooth operation & proactive issue resolutions. This addresses business challenges like optimizing service delivery efficiency with resource allocation as it is ultimately enhancing client satisfaction through timely support including problem solutions, Atera's platform easily do the ticketing - time tracking , client communication, maximizing productivity also profitability & maintaining our client satisfaction.
  • In my view the PSA module makes it easy for technicians to manage tickets by creating , assigning, tracking them efficiently also It automates ticket routing that will ensuring that client support requests are directed to the right technician based on rules along with the priorities, that smoothes the resolution process from query to completion.
  • I like this feature that is automated patch management. devices stay current with the latest security updates, minimizing vulnerabilities. It schedules deployments during off hours, minimizing disruptions
  • & automatically deploys critical patches across multiple client networks.
  • The platforms real-time monitoring keep a close eye on IT systems, spotting issues like low disk space or high CPU usage promptly. For instance If server disk space becomes critically low IT instantly alerts administrators. alerting them to act proactively & prevent system downtime.
  • the ability to create custom reports with specific metrics and filters that will be beneficial for MSPs who getting deeper insights into their operations.
  • The interface is bit complex for new users. Simplifying the user interface & giving more intuitive navigation can improve the user experience.
  • The mobile app doesnt have some features and functionalities available in the desktop version.
High recommendation for MSPs juggling multiple client IT environments. It has integrated suite of tools simplifies operations, offering seamless remote monitoring , management and ticketing solutions. For SMBs it is invaluable, benefiting from its full monitoring, patch management & remote access features at an affordable price.
Less Recommendation for large enterprises with huge IT infrastructures who has advanced customization also highly regulated industries such as finance, healthcare where Atera lacking in specialized compliance features necessary for strict regulatory adherence.

Atera is a life-saver for a one-man IT department. They make it easy to onboard. To get set-up they provide installation files or command line instructions for each OS. There is even an option to have a specific installer and command line instruction for each site. So, you run the command and that computer is instantly associated with that site. I do recommend that you give the computer a descriptive, but short, PC name, so that it is easy to locate the right device in the Atera system after onboarding. The app is great, and even allows me to remote in to devices from my phone or tablet. When I have been stumped on how to perform an action or set something up in Atera, they have a chat support feature that is easy to use, and is quick to get a live agent to assist. I use Atera every day, and it saves me time, and dramatically reduces the need to go out on-site. I set it up on about 200 devices spread over 175 miles in less than 2 weeks. I then trained the users on it, and we have been using it since.
  • Remoting in from anywhere, even on my phone or tablet, has enabled me to quickly diagnose, or even fully resolve, problems.
  • The ticketing, once users are set up, is a breeze. It also keeps everything in one place for them.
  • With Atera the need to travel on-site has been dramatically reduced.
  • Atera does not yet have a MDM system, but I have been told that it is in the works!
  • Sometimes getting around the admin section of the IT side of Atera can be tricky, but the webinars and chat support help.
  • Many of the demo and onboarding agents are based in Israel, so it can be a challenge to find available times during the day while living in the United States.
As a one-person IT department, Atera is almost like having another person to help, especially as we integrate the AIT functionalities. We have several locations spread over nearly 200 miles, and Atera has enabled me to remote in and fix something that before would have had to wait until we could justify an all-day or overnight 300 mile round trip.

Atera is the centralized management platform for our infrastructure and devices. It is used to handle most operations for IT management. We have a small internal IT department which needs to support 50 users across 3 offices and many remote users.

It has enabled us to have visibility into all equipment, installed software, remotely support devices, and track incidents and problems. We use it to streamline onboarding and offboarding operations, configure new hardware for deployment, track assets, automate remediation of issues, centralize a knowledgebase of IT information, automate patching, etc.

While IT is generally a 24/7 operation, my office hours do not need to be. When things aren't being self-healed after-hours, I can still have visibility and access to everything wherever I may be.
  • Easy access to device information and remote capability.
  • Scheduled automation for after-hours maintenance and remediation.
  • Ability to run scripts on remote devices.
  • Network device monitoring and alerting.
  • Some interface elements could be streamlined, like consistency of breadcrumb navigation between pages.
  • Included Splashtop remote is functional but limited.
Atera does a great job of making it easy to get to all system information in one place, from user workstations all the way through servers to core network infrastructure.

Access to tools to manage devices is nicely integrated into the interface and feels natural to use.

Setup and use of Atera is extremely intuitive. It took less than 30 days to get it fully setup and working in our environment.

In my role as an IT apprentice at a high school, I frequently use Atera, a versatile and efficient tool that's integral to our IT management and support. Atera primarily functions as our remote management and ticketing system, streamlining our workflow significantly. Its compatibility with both PCs and mobile devices is a major advantage, offering flexibility and convenience. This feature proves especially useful in urgent scenarios where I need to access passwords or other critical information on the fly, regardless of my location. Additionally, Atera's user-friendly interface simplifies complex tasks, making it easier to track, manage, and resolve IT issues promptly. Its robust functionality and mobile accessibility make it an indispensable tool in our day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless IT support across the school.

Where Atera Excels:Small to Mid-Sized IT Environments: Atera is ideal for settings like a high school IT department. It provides a comprehensive suite of tools, including remote access, ticketing, reporting, and more, in a single pane of glass.Remote Support: If you're managing devices across the school, Atera's remote access capabilities allow you to troubleshoot without needing physical access to the machines. This is handy for quick fixes or when working from a different location.Preventative Maintenance: With its proactive monitoring, Atera can alert you to issues like low disk space, high CPU usage, or network outages before they become bigger problems. This helps in maintaining a smooth IT infrastructure in the school.Automated Scripts and Patch Management: You can automate routine tasks and keep systems updated with the latest patches. This is particularly useful in an educational environment where there's a lot of repetitive work and consistent need for updates.Scenarios Where Atera Might Be Less Appropriate:Very Large Enterprises: In a vast enterprise setting with complex IT needs, Atera might lack some of the advanced features and customizability that larger, more specialized tools offer.Deep Specialized Use Cases: If your needs are very specific, like advanced cybersecurity monitoring or in-depth analytics, Atera might not be the best fit. It's more of an all-rounder than a specialist tool.Budget Constraints: While Atera is cost-effective for many, if your school's IT budget is extremely tight, you might find the cost a consideration, especially if you're only using a fraction of its features. In Your Case:As an IT apprentice in a high school, Atera can be a valuable tool for you. It can help you manage and monitor school devices efficiently, handle support tickets, and automate routine tasks, giving you more time to focus on complex projects or learning new skills. Just remember, its suitability depends on the specific needs and scale of your school's IT infrastructure.

Use Atera for asset tracking, patch management, helpdesk, app deployment and more. Atera is simple to use and cost effective, majority of competitors price per endpoint where Atera prices per agent. The software is not best in class in any aspect, though it is good enough, gets the job done.
  • Remote Management
  • Asset Tracking
  • Asset Monitoring
  • Password manager does not support MFA
  • Knowledge base is minimal
  • Ticket system is cluttered
  • Reports are basic
Atera is a good all around RMM solution that has all the features as other competing brands. There are shortcomings so do your research when making your decision, but keep in mind that they're constantly developing and coming out with new features. Our IT department depends on Atera daily and for the most part what we need is there.

We utilize it for secure remote access, Ticketing, patch management, and inventory management. We are a small to medium MSP that supports multiple clients and endpoints around the country.
  • Secure remote access
  • Ticketing and Reporting
  • Patch Management
  • Inventory Management
  • Mobile App could use some updates and become more stable
  • Better non upgraded reporting options
It is great for any MSP that is growing and trying to improve efficiencies. It is not charged per endpoint but per technician so great for a company growing endpoints but not technicians as fast.

We're a growing MSP and we needed a single site to manage our client systems and software. Atera hit all those buttons for us. As a small company, we weren't ready for the large expenses some of the other packages required. We found Atera to be satisfactory with the automation, ticketing system, alerting and ease of collaboration in our team.
We have grown a lot over the last year and expect more growth in the years to come. Atera has been easy to scale up with us. They also add features and listen to user feedback.
Last but not least, their support & speed of response is excellent. This is crucial in our industry and they have not disappointed with their service.
  • Automation
  • AI Integration
  • Ticketing
  • Network analysis
  • System Inventory
  • Software integration
  • Licensing integration
  • Expanded Note field for Clients & Devices
When onboarding a new client, it's easy to install the agent and start obtaining information rapidly to see where problems lie. The fact that there is no "per device" charge allows us to do broad installs without concern over costs.

Two areas that I would like to see improvement are:
Event viewer - enabling filtering of errors or warnings
Metrics - more time choices and being able to view GPUs

After testing almost all of the "bigger" named RMMs on the market, Atera is hands down the best for the way that my workflow is set up. They get a lot of things right with simple layouts, a great search bar that you can type anything into, and very easy to understand advanced functionality such as scripts and reports. The database of shared scripts is amazing and you can add your own cool scripts to the pool if you have something useful. The price is also very competitive for the one man shop that I am and allows me to scale up without feeling like I'm missing out on and features from other RMMs. Support is VERY responsive if you're having an issue and their feature board is a way to implement the exact features that users of their software want, so they really do listen to feedback. If I had to bring up a con, the mobile app is a little barebones and I find myself almost never using it but they do plan to continue to add functionality to it. Overall I'm extremely happy with using them to grow my business.
  • Atera and user submitted database of scripts you can easily deploy
  • k.i.s.s. approach to the UI and UX
  • Continuously updating the platform every 2 weeks
  • Mobile app is missing a lot of functionality compared to the web UI
  • Email alerts can be a bit overwhelming without dialing in thresholds of metrics being reported
  • Mac agent still is a bit weird at times but it has greatly improved from the start of my using Atera
Atera is amazing for any one man or woman IT person who has a decent-sized computer fleet to manage but does not have an infinite budget to pay for all of those endpoints at the prices other RMMs charge on a per-device basis. Also, the team feels smaller and more connected to its customers.

Atera is used for MSP services. It is a fantastic product. I really have not had any issues with it in three years. The remote access to clients through Atera is fast and reliable. It is the feature I use most. The ability to use scripting to create automated tasks really helps. They have a library of hundreds of scripts you can use as examples or just to plain use. Notifications are very adjustable. Thresholds for the notifications are easily changed as well. I have contacted Atera and even had a Zoom meeting with them in Israel. They are very nice. Very responsive. I do recommend this product highly. Before Atera I used Zenith product, Solar Winds and many others. Atera is by far, better.
  • Remote access for technicians.
  • Remote access for home users.
  • Automation of tasks.
  • Dashboard is simple to read with a good amount of information on it.
  • I would say custom reporting.
  • Mobile app is difficult to use effectively on a screen smaller than 10.1"
I use Atera for small businesses. between 2 and 50 workstations and a handful of servers. This really is the sweet spot. You don't get inundated with tickets if setup properly. The choices of add on products like anti-virus give a complete package for the client that is affordable.

We're a former user of Atera at this point. Atera was a solid product for us, but ended up lacking the level of polish we needed in one area that we ended up changing to a competing product for. We needed to manage a base of over 200 Windows devices, and in terms of monitoring, Atera worked quite well for RMM. The included Splashtop integration was useful to us, as was reporting and monitoring (especially of servers) of our systems.
  • RMM/Splashtop
  • Server monitoring
  • Automation of certain processes
  • Patch management is limited in scope
  • Integration with third party products is nice, but feels like too much focus on upsell
In our case, the monitoring and remote control worked pretty well. The licensing is suited more for a small team, or where the ratio of admins to systems is very great. Price increases, plus our team expanding caused us to shop around. We were also unhappy with the patch management that was provided. Basically for Windows systems, it just goads Windows Update along, which is frustrating if WU is having issues. Support for patching third party apps is very limited and seems to usually only work well if Atera installed the app in the first place.

Robintree is a managed service company and we use Atera extensively to manage our customer's IT infrastructure. We perform automatic patching, driver updates, and remote help desk through the Atera system. Additionally, we run system audits on customer's fleets to find pain points and offer resolutions. Without Atera our company wouldn't be able to function in the managed service business.
  • Customized system alerts
  • Remote support
  • Reports
  • Ticketing
  • Ease of use
  • Categorizing tickets from specific sources automatically.
  • Ability to customize the view of the customers tab.
  • Ability to see entire device name in the iOS app.
Atera is well suited for a Windows and Mac environment, supporting small to medium businesses. A great solution for upstarts and established companies looking to grow. User friendly with a little learning curve. Not a good fit for companies that support Linux servers, remote mobile devices, such as, smartphones and tablets.

  • Remote management for PC's and Macs
  • Mobile Application for on the go support

  • Reporting & Alerts
  • Additional features added to Mobile application to match web platform
  • Improved Password Manager

We use Atera as our primary monitoring and remote access application. We are a managed service provider for information technology, and Atera is vital to our business. The selection of tools it has make it an efficient choice for our business, and more cost effective than other solutions. Additionally, the ongoing development is giving us ways to use even more of our products in concert with Atera.
  • Easy to deploy, both in general or to a specific customer.
  • Remote management tools that are in line with every other major solution out there.
  • Real-time alerts that allow for easy monitoring of vital systems.
  • Configurable threshholds on alerts so the system can be tuned to only notify when there is a problem according to certain metrics.
  • Ticketing system is clunky, and requires an client e-mail for use.
  • Network discovery tool lacks complexity of other solutions.
Atera is useful for companies that have many endpoints or multiple clients being managed by a small team. It's ideal for MSPs because of its unlimited endpoints, customers, and integration with common billing software. I think there are better solutions for an internal IT team, where endpoint count wouldn't be in as much flux.

Looks good, promising, and cheap. But the reality is not the same. The remote apps works once a while, so does the remote desktop. Very unreliable, we don't know when it is going to be down and up. The technical support assumed they are smartest person. I opened the case because I could not dial in to the user. He forced me to give an remote access for him. How I can give him a remote access if I could not dial in to that pc?<br>I have numerous open cases that have been opened for more than two weeks - no follow up. The customer service promised to call me to solve the issue. But she never call. <br>We have been ignored for too long, so I am looking for the replacement.

Atera is closed to Beta product. It is not for live environment because we never know when we will not able to remote in and we will able to do so. It is happened also for the other features, script deployment and others. Some the script are implemented and some are not.
It is absolutely unstable product. We requesting the money back. However, the support did not call us back as her promised.

Remote access during the COVID pandemic has been a problem. Atera helped us solve that problem.
  • Remote Access--Splashtop provides direct access so we can see what users see and help them with current issues
  • Sound Troubleshooting--Splashtop is phenomenal in pulling sound from the machine and helping with remote sound troubleshooting
  • Remote Background Access
  • Patch Management--While we have other solutions for mass patch management, whenever we run into a machine being stubborn, I just turn to Atera and target that machine directly to install the annoying patches. Seems to work beautifully. I rarely get an error on install.
  • CMD/Powershell Access--The ability to remote CMD and remote Powershell is key to solving lots of remote issues. This access is better than most other platforms and once setup is easier than actual Powershell remoting. A real plus.
  • Patch management en masse needs a little work. If there was a better way to handle patch management for large numbers of machines, this would be better.
  • Software installation has a few kinks and needs to be a little smoother. This might be more related to Chocolatey than Atera, but regardless, it needs a bit of work. The selection of automatically installable software is a little less than what we need. For what it does, though, it works.
Atera is a solid performer. I rarely have connection issues, and those are all related to the Internet at one end or the other. Remote access is great; tracking and resolving issues is much easier with the alerts system. As a pickup during the pandemic, this has been one of my best purchases hands down--simple installation and very easy to use, but a little in depth on the setup, which I wasn't expecting. Atera is designed for RMM, and it does the job very well.

It's been using Atera to keep track of all our clients' assets and it's incredible how much time it saves us to have all info in one place. Being able to remote access each client's computer was expected, but I was amazed how easily you can run console commands without users even knowing about it, and the scripts shared by the community are proving to be very helpful.

[We] only recently started using the ticketing system and although here at the company we didn't find it so easy to set up at first and we still haven't sent the word to clients yet, tests so far shows promise, especially how each client has their dedicated portal. I only wish there was a way for [us] to either forward a client email and auto-create a ticket OR change the client that ticket was assigned later, this would make life so much easier.

Also, this is only me but I think a "change log" section within the client where we could post update entries with time stamp, for example: "march 26th - reception-pc added, apps installed" would be awesome.
  • Asset tracking.
  • Run scripts remotely.
  • Hardware/software info gathering.
  • Remote-access integration.
  • Ticket automation, more options to specific cases or conditions, and change client assigned to ticket, or be able to assign a ticket for the client without hassle of emailing them back or having to create a fake contact.
  • Include notes for client that are not file attachments, maybe integration with a cloud service like Google Docs or OneDrive.
  • Integration with other remote access tools would be helpful.
Not very specific but any big company that has a hard time finding different software solutions can have some of its IT department problems solved in one app, while keeping track of their assets and ticket system in one place. It's especially useful to see the ticket and click a button to access the affected computer.

Basically any IT company that keeps track of their clients assets and offer contracts can benefit from its management console, having many ways to not need to visit the site helps both sides.

We have our techs using Atera. It is our main RMM tool--we push Windows and some third-party updates, use remote PowerShell, remote control with Splashtop, package installs via Chocolatey, a shared script library, and more. We use the built-in help desk and it gets us by but it would be nice to have some other features. We love the Splashtop integration; we even purchased a separate SOS license and can now use it from the dashboard.
  • Pricing--pay per tech, not by agent
  • Remote control with Splashtop integration
  • Shared script library updated by other users
  • Chocolatey integration for installing apps, and you can make packages for group installs
  • File transfer without needing to interrupt the user
  • Have backup building options with Acronis
  • Built-in AV with Bitdefender, Webroot
  • Helpdesk needs more features, like field selections
  • AD and Exchange integrations would be nice
  • HyperV and VMware support to manage VMs remotely
Atera excels for a solo shop or a small team trying to manage a large number of machines at the right price. No matter how many machines you want to manage, the price is the same each month. The RMM features are the bread and butter of the product but the PSA side is slowly catching up. Great when you have those customers who "don't want to pay each month" but still call you each month needing help--you can install an agent and not be charged.

We decided to make a change to Atera as a test and were so elated with the results that we migrated all of our managed systems to Atera. The ease of deployment, response of the agents, as well as integration of 3rd party apps, makes this a fantastic product.
  • Ease of deployment.
  • Footprint of install agent.
  • 3rd party app integration.
  • Would like to be able to sort agent views alphabetically by machine name.
Very well suited for a small to mid-sized MSP. It also has most (all that I need) of the features of the bigger players in the space with a cost that is well below. I like that you have unlimited agents and pay one fee. Extras, such as AV are sold on a per-seat basis, which makes cost control very simple.

Atera is being used at all of our desktops and laptops as well as our servers to keep track of windows updates, software installations, audits and Scripted installations. Additionally we use it for inventory purposes and user tracking. We can identify users with underpowered devices and schedule upgrades, we can export lists of computers to excel and track who is missing software and schedule installs. We also use it to corroborate security alerts with the IP addresses of the devices which are stored in the networking section.

Our Helpdesk also uses it to remote into any computer any where and screen-share instantly without user interaction to preform software repairs/upgrades with minimal difficulty. We can transfer files and run command lines as well from the back end so we can make changes without the user even being aware.

Our helpdesk is most impressed with the ease of use compared to other remote support apps, by the time they are saying hello and telling you about their day you are already in their system half way through the repair.

Without Atera the Covid Crisis would have been a nightmare to support. But with it, we were able to preform at top marks.
  • Remote Control of user computer
  • Auditing and Reporting on computer fleet
  • Windows Updates and Software patches
  • it does not integrate with our FreshService helpdesk application
[Atera] is so inexpensive compared to alternatives just buy it and use it as a backup.

We use Atera to support our staff and students with remote management and ticket management. We support 10 schools using Atera.
  • Remote management and monitoring.
  • Ticket management.
  • Customer detail management.
  • Mobile app isn't intuitive to use.
  • Mobile web version has a few formatting issues.
For managed services providers mainly, but would be helpful to manage a single business.

We are a small IT service provider and use it to serve our customers. It is great in remote assistance, asset tracking, and easy helpdesk functions like ticket follow up.
  • Remote control
  • Patch management
  • Ticket follow up
  • NO mobile management.
  • Anti-virus overview in a separate window.
Best for it service providers.

We have Atera running across the school district on all teacher PC's & Mac's as well as all student PC's. It helps us manage security across all devices through updates, hardware monitoring and event monitoring. We use it for quick problem resolution via Splashtop integration and rolling out applications through the web interface. Being able to use Splashtop to access critical servers bypasses the security flaws inherent in Microsoft's remote desktop protocol. Combining system monitoring with network and bandwidth monitoring allows us to find issues and weak points in the systems before they become problems.
  • Clean, crisp and easy to use web interface. It allows one place to do it all.
  • Integrations with 3rd party apps.
  • System that provide alerts to problems and potential problems.
  • Tech support over email is a little slow (although that could be due to Covid).
  • While everything is in the web interface, there are some items that could be placed better or have the change option in only one location rather than all the ones where it is applied.
  • Customizations and initial setup can be confusing. There's a lot to do and it can be overwhelming.
I recommended Atera to the current company I am with. I used Atera previously and was very happy with it. The price point can't be beat. Atera is great for MSP's and mid-size to large companies. Small companies will probably not see the value that Atera provides, unless they are spread out over many locations.
